Tombs in Thebes, Valley of the Nobles
The Valley of the Nobles is not often visited by tourists — they tend to flock to the Valley of the Kings and some manage a trip to the Valley of the Queens. There are hundreds of tombs in the Valley of the Nobles, although only a few are open.
This valley contains some of the finest tombs that we saw — unbelieveably fine relief work and truly stunning painting decorate the tombs of governers, viziers, and priests.
The Valley of the Nobles is not really a sngle valley, but a series of wadis with clusters of tombs cut into them. I’ve organized the 400-some tombs by general area in the tables below.
Tombs in Assasif
Tombs in Dra Abu el-Nagar
Tombs in Gurret Marai
Tombs in Deir el-Bahari
Tombs in Khokka
