The temple of Tuthmosis III lies directly against the side of the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, but almost nothing remains except the stumps of columns and the faint outline of a ramp. The temple was buried in an ancient landslide.

It lies near the temple of Nebhepetre Mentuyotep, which is a small, square space with the foundations of the columns remaining. Mentuhotep was the first pharaoh to choose burial in Thebes and he was buried in this temple.

The temple was discovered in 1961 during restoration work on Dier el-Bahari. It also had a temple to Hathor, and is built as a smaller version of the large temple Colorful, well-presevered reliefs from this temple can be found int he Luxor Museum. .
