Coptic Church, Dendara

One of the structures that was built from the stones and rubble of the temple here was a large coptic church. The clearly christian iconography is startling in the midst of the heiroglyphs and images of the pharaohs. If you walk through the remain sof the building, you can see the pieces that were used to build it — stumps of New Kingdom columns, upstide-down pieces of bas-relief
